About The City of Tangent

The City of Tangent is a home rule city in Linn County with an estimated population of 1,231 to the United States Census. The City is located on Oregon Highway 99 East, seven miles from Downtown Albany, nine miles from Corvallis, and 12 miles from Lebanon.

With our proximity to Oregon Highway 34 and Interstate 5, Tangent is a small town conveniently located in the middle of Mid-Willamette Valley. The "Grass Seed Capital of the World" is home to many businesses, including agriculture-related industries, and is ideal for setting up shop!

We invite you to stop by the Tangent, visit historic City Hall, walk the David Brush Recreational Trail, or enjoy Pioneer Park with your family. There are two food trucks and one restaurant saloon along Highway 99E, which runs through the middle of town.

Our website has all the information you need. If you continue to scroll down, you'll learn more about the Endless Stories here in Tangent. We have records of most of our newsletters that go out each month with utility bills and a digital copy of our City Calendar highlighting key city events and government meetings.

On our Government page, you will find information about our elected officials, volunteer commissioners, municipal budget, city staff, and meeting minutes from our public meetings.

Our Permits page has all the permits for Land Development and the Frequently Asked Questions section. The Utility page leads to our payment portal and tips on utility care for everyone. Lastly, City Updates provides news updates from City Hall.

We have a contact us form on the bottom where any additional questions may be asked to our City Staff.
