Ballot Measure 22-206 Amend City Charter Section 61 Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance

Question: Shall Tangent return authority to the Planning Commission and City Council to make legislative decisions on land development?

Summary: The City of Tangent, City Charter, Section 61, Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance, requires voter approval in a city-wide election for all legislative decisions on land development. Since voters enacted Section 61 in November 2011, the City has not updated its Comprehensive Plan or Zoning Ordinance and the code has become outdated. By voting in favor of amending City Charter, Section 61, the authority to make legislative decisions will return to the Planning Commission and City Council.

A “Yes” vote will be a vote in favor of amending the City Charter to allow the Planning Commission and City Council to make legislative decisions on land development.

A “No” vote would retain the authority of the City of Tangent voters.
