Planning and Citizen Involvement Commission

Planning and C.I. Commissioners consistently interpret and administer the Oregon Statewide Planning Goals and the Tangent Comprehensive Plan, as implemented by the Land Development Code, Transportation Plan, and other city adopted plans and policies. The commission reviews most development and land-use change proposals for consistency with these, deciding some applications and making recommendations to the City Council in other instances.

They are also directly involved in proposing the new and amended plan and code language, formulating and adopting new plans, and facilitating citizen involvement in the planning process. These community volunteers are a valuable Tangent asset and resource, and their time and energy are vastly appreciated by the community.

Vacancies occur cyclically at the end of the calendar year and are filled by a majority vote of the city council. If you are interested in serving on the Tangent Planning and Citizen Involvement Commission, please contact City Hall. More information is available in Chapter 2.16 of the Municipal Code, found under the Government tab on the home page of this website.
